Obsidian by Jennifer L. Armentrout
Goodreads summary:
"When we moved to West Virginia right before my senior year, I'd pretty much resigned myself to thick accents, dodgy internet access, and a whole lot of boring... until I spotted my hot neighbor, with his looming height and eerie green eyes. Things were looking up.
And then he opened his mouth.
Daemon is infuriating. Arrogant. Stab-worthy. We do not get along. At all. But when a stranger attacks me and Daemon literally freezes time with a wave of his hand, well, something... unexpected happens.
The hot alien living next door marks me.
You heard me. Alien. Turns out Daemon and his sister have a galaxy of enemies wanting to steal their abilities, and Daemon's touch has me lit up like the Vegas Strip. The only way I'm getting out of this alive is by sticking close to Daemon until my alien mojo fades.
If I don't kill him first, that is."

This is my first alien theme book and I enjoyed it a lot to my surprise. It took me a few chapters to get into the stories because I was getting this Twilight vibe but once they were finally revealed and the story started kicking in it was really good. I absolutely love the characters and I could tell the story is really going to develop a lot and I want to read more from the series.
So the only reason it's a 4 was because the beginning was sorta dragging and it reminded me of Twilight A LOT. I was just telling the book "JUST GET IT OVER WITH ALREADY!" Lol luckily the connection between Katy and Daemon was what kept me reading more. After they said they were Aliens I was really intrigued with the Luxen world and there powers, it was really cool and interesting. I really enjoyed the action and the bad guys.
My most favorite thing of all about the story was Katy and Daemon. Talk about a romance connection. What I liked most of what J.L. Armentrout did with the love interest was make their connection the same and constant through out the whole book. I like that they still kept their little arguments and attitudes towards one another in that cute way everyone enjoys. I can't get enough of Daemon honestly he is so sassy and bossy I want him to love next door to me! And I really really liked how it ended it makes the reader want to know more.
Overall I didn't have many problems with Obsidian I liked it a lot and I want to get all the bind ups so I can stay in that world and continue lovely Daemon and all the other characters. This is a good recommendation to anyone. So pick it up and read it!
Thnks for reading♡
